WRITINGS
by
Michael the Ascetic

For awhile, I toyed with the idea of writing a book on Christian Paradox, but I never seemed to get beyond what title to use. (If you would find it amusing to see where such ponderings led me, click here for a list.) In this section you will find sermons and various articles and tracts, many of which are based on topics originally intended for the envisioned book.

I fully recognize that there are many different views among Christians, and I myself have little interest in getting into any kind of heavy polemics. It's tough enough just struggling through this pilgrimage without any of us placing further obstacles in each other's way. That does not mean that I have no strong views, though. Therefore, I would hope you keep in mind that what I offer here are opionions, some of which have remained fairly constant throughout my lifetime and others which have changed and fluctuated at times. The thoughts and words found here are not intended in any way to be final for me or for anyone else. Were it possible to examine the whole history of what I have thought, said, or committed to writing, one would soon become aware that I have changed my perspective a number of times in the past, and no doubt, I will continue to do such as time progresses. It can be rather compromising to commit oneself to writing, I guess, for those who might later stumble on such would have little way of knowing what opinions are still held. Paradoxically, I probably stood for and wrote defensively just about anything and everything at one time or another, so be charitable as I invite you to share in my innermost thoughts.
